The goal of the HealthMastery wellness program is to help Your Company...

Goal 1:
How HealthMastery can help your employees increase physical activity and help members reach their personal health & fitness goals.
  1. Our program does this by covering all aspects of healthy living (nutrition, stress management, sleep etc) and is delivered to each employee direct via Email.

    A study by the Kaiser Permanente Division of Research found employees respond better to wellness initiatives when they are targeted directly as individuals, rather than forcing them to access messages through the Internet.

    The study found e-mail that included messages with simple practical tips, improved employees’ diets and physical activity (study funded by Centers of Disease Control and Prevention).

  2. To take part in the HealthMastery program, all employees require is an email address and access to the internet.

  3. Targeted messaging to each employee when they send their goals via interactive goal forms each week. If and when they submit their goals each week via email, they are given a separate stream of information and miss out if they don’t!

  4. We believe Prevention now pays off later for both employees and employers, so by educating employees on all aspects of healthier living it can all help kick start each employee for long term change.

  5. To achieve any goal, we need to make the right thing to do, easy to do. Scientific information is made simple for each employee to implement in their own lives. Example;, encourage participants to always exercise while watching their favorite TV shows.

Goal 2:
How we can help your company increase employee retention
  1. One size fits one. Some people kick start a new wellness regime by starting to walk or do more physical activity, BUT others may get more motivated to change behaviors by first changing their nutrition for example. Once they start doing what appeals to them, it creates a ripple effect in other areas of their lives. HealthMastery’s program teaches employees all aspects of wellness to give them a chance to start with what appeals to them first.

  2. The HealthMastery program brings awareness to each employee about their own health and well being. It addresses the fact that not everyone is up to the “Action” stage and may not be ready to start a physical activity program. HealthMastery’s program addresses the 5 stages of change (Trans-theoretical Model) in each module so each employee has a better chance of doing something on the program, regardless of where they are at in terms of change (Pre-contemplation, Contemplation, Preparation, Action, Maintenance). This then increase participation rates overall and retention long term on the program.

  3. HealthMastery work booklets (employees print out for home use) are given each month, full of information on various health/well being topics. Front of mind awareness on these topics lead to better choices in day to day life.

  4. Any answer to how to get healthier, fitter, slimmer etc is on the internet. There is no shortage of free information. With all this information circulating, why is a large percentage of the nation still obese and unhealthy?
    The answer is confusion.

    There is too much information offered, but no “Structure” to this information. We offer a structure to this education and offer employees a step by step plan of action to follow each week, month, year…that offers preventative strategies for long term health and well being.

    What does this mean for your company employees? Increased adherence to the program and better results, instead of confusion.

  5. If diets or ‘get healthy’ plans worked, why are there so many of them? The problem with most wellness plans is that they address the “how to” or tools and miss a vital ingredient; the “want to” or what we at HealthMastery call the “Mindset” component.

    At the end of the day, we all know what we should be eating and that we should exercise, but do we do it? Judging from the state of the nation’s rising weight, the answer is no! HealthMastery’s program helps to bridge the GAP between knowing what to do and Actually DOING it. Knowledge along does not lead to change- understanding does. Essentially the program will help people do more of what they say they are going to do, by first understanding why they need to do it..

    By offering a Mindset component as part of the HealthMastery program to employees on they will stick at the program long term and get better results.

Goal 3:
How we can help your company increase program adoption (Getting Signed Up) and employee participation across different consumer segments.
  1. Adoption or Client participation rates are generally low on corporate wellness programs. To capture more employees and boost program adoption/participation, the program needs to appeal to different employees needs.

    Basically, we need to capture more of the non-participating 60-80% of employees. Initial sign up or participation is related to communicating with employees about what they can get out of the program. If the program is comprehensive, it will capture a wider range of employees.

    Some employees may have a regular gym routine (already active) in place, so a program based solely on increasing physical activity might not engage or interest them as much. If employees know that the program also covers how to eat better (among other things), this may encourage them to adopt/join the program and utilize the various teachings and remain on the program.

    HealthMastery’s program provides the foundations of healthy habits, nutrition/eating, stress, creating healthy habits etc, so can be applied to the different employee cultures and preferences. Overall, this leads to increased participation and capturing a wider range of employees than previously done so.

"Life was busy, I was running my own business and simply did not have the time to exercise and eat right. I grabbed things on the go and often it was the wrong foods, just to fill the hunger pains. I searched the internet for a “diet” that would work. I came across HealthMastery and was skeptical.

It was impossible for people to look so good just with eating right and some exercise I thought, but after having spoken to Nalisha for the first time, she answered many of the questions I had and I thought I’d give it a go.

I had no time to exercise, years of incorrect eating, not to mention the fact that I did not know what type of exercises to do and I was not prepared to go to a gym where everyone had a fabulous body and knew exactly what to do.

I was introduced to things at a pace I could manage, starting with exercising 3 times a week, she gave me great nutritional tips about what to look out for on the packaging by looking at the fat content.

I kept a food diary and was surprised that I was allowed to eat more than what I did in the past, but it was the right kinds of food this time. As we progressed with my exercise routine I realised that I started getting stronger and could run for longer periods of time.

I am pleased to say that now I run 4km a day, this is a huge achievement for me considering I could not run for more than 2 minutes in the past without having to stop to catch my breath! I love the foods I now eat (it’s not so much different from before, except I prepare it in a healthy manner and of course everything in moderation) and so enjoy my exercising, if I skip a day of exercising,I really miss it.

In just over 3 months I have lost a total of 36.1 cm. Wow, even I couldn’t believe it. I went from a size 16 and now fit in a size 10 (which was my goal), but I will continue to stick to my HealthMastery exercise routine and love the way I am eating now. I’ve been told that I look years younger.

I feel great, I have so much more energy, and I now coach my daughter’s netball team and actually have the energy to run around with 9-year old girls. I get up earlier in the morning and even on a weekend when I used to sleep in with not having any energy; I now get up at 7am and go running even in our cold 4 degree mornings.

The greatest gift about all of this is the fact that my children have seen me looking so much better, eating healthier and exercising more and they want to do the same.
